Annapurna Base Camp Trekking

Thus Annapurna Base Camp trekking route is also called as Annapurna Sanctuary trekking. Annapurna Base Camp is an extensively famous hiking tour that leads to the base camp of Annapurna Himalaya passing through beautiful villages, terraced farmlands, lush hills covered by rhododendron, oak and bamboo trees, sparkling streams and glacial moraines.
Trek to Annapurna has some long steep climbs and descends on stone steps however the trekking is not difficult. Among all base camp trekking routes of Nepal, Annapurna Base camp is the easier and quick reachable base camp trekking which is also no need any climbing and hiking experience. In the route of Annapurna Base Camp, we have also linked Ghorepani Poonhill which provides you bonus of a view of Dhaulagiri, the fifth highest mountain in the world.
This trekking begins from Nayapul, reachable one hour drive from Pokhara with following of the Modi Khola (stream) then ascend to Ghorepani crossing some beautiful Magar villages and rhododendron forests. From Ghorepani hourly morning hike to Poonhill provides a captivating sunrise view over the spectacular high Himalayas of Dhaulagiri (8167m), Annapurna I (8091m) and other peaks. Leaving Ghorepani you walk ahead to join with the main trail of Annapurna Base Camp at Chhomrong and continue climbing to Machhapuchare Base Camp (3700m) via the places of Dobhan and Deurali. From Machhapurchare Base Camp it is only a few hours of walking distance to your dream destination following to enter the gate of Annapurna sanctuary.
After the visit to Annapurna Base Camp, you retrace your steps all the way down to Nayapul with night stopover at Bamboo and Jhinu Danda (Hot Spring place where you can soothe your aching body). Finally ending trekking at Nayapul you drive back to Pokhara followed by to Kathmandu.

14 Nights 15 Days Annapurna Base Camp Trek.
Day 1: Kathmandu : Arrival Day
Namaste and welcome to Nepal and the start of our adventure! We’ll be waiting with a warm greeting and transfer to your hotel. We’ll have a final briefing in the evening regarding our itinerary and overnight at hotel.
Day 2: Full day sightseeing in Kathmandu
Full day sightseeing in UNESCO listed historical sites such as Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath (Monkey temple), and Pashupathinath in Kathmandu valley with experienced Tour Guide by private car/van,
Stay overnight in hotel.
Day 3: Drive to Pokhara
After breakfast drive to Pokhara 200 km and it takes around 7 hours from Kathmandu by tourist bus or private van. The tourist bus/van stops for breakfast at 09.00 am and at around 12.00 for lunch on the way to Pokhara. Late afternoon and evening is free time.
Day 4: Drive to Nayapul & trek to Tikhedhunga
We take a short drive to Nayapul in the morning and start the trek from Nayapul. After short preparation of the luggage for the porters and prepare yourself, the trail lead easy walk towards Birethanti along the river.
From Nayapul our trail continues through local villages following the bank of Modi Khola then we climb steadily up to reach Tikhedhunga (1,570m). Overnight at lodge.
Day 5: Trek to Ghorepani
Our journey continues after hot breakfast at around 08:00 o’clock in the morning. Today it is a bit demanding steep walk up of stone staircase to Ulleri for about one and half hours. Lunch break at Banthanti and beyond Banthanti, the trail goes through magnificent rhododendron and oak forest. It is 5-7 hours walk in total to get to beautiful Ghorepani and stay overnight at lodge.
Day 6: Trek to Poon Hill (3,200m) and trek to Tadapani
Altitude: 3,200m & 2,570m
Early morning, we start to hike up to Poon Hill (3,210m).This vantage point offers magnificent sunrise views of Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Nilgiri (6,940m) , Annapurna (7,215m), Machhapuchhre (6,997m), Manaslu (8,163m), Annapurna(7,993m) and other several peaks . This sunrise view will be unforgettable experience in your lifetime. After spending 1 hour at Poon Hill we return back to Ghorepani. After breakfast we leave for Tadapani through pine and Rhododendron forest. Overnight at lodge.
Day 7: Trek to Chhomrong
Leaving Tadapani, the trail descends down through the forest and we can hear birds chirping. After walking down about 45 minutes, the trail goes very steep downhill through the terraced field to Kimrung Khola river, crossing suspension bridges, leading straight to Chhomrong at the elevation of 2,170m. It takes 4-5 hours from Tadapani to Chhomrong. Stay overnight at lodge.
Day 8: Trek to Dovan
The trail descends down 310 metres through thousands of stone staircase crosses then crosses Chhomrong Khola and climbs up to Sinuwa at the height of 2,340 metres. It is an easy walk through Rhododendron festooned with orchids and ferns then steep down with stone staircase to Bamboo. After having lunch there we walk throughout the cool forest about an hour to Dovan at the elevation of 2,360 metres. Stay overnight at lodge.
Day 9: Trek to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC)
Climb to Deurali through the thick Rhododendron and bamboo forest to reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp. It takes nearly 5 hours to reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp by walking. The natural sceneries over here encourage you to walk more and create curiosity towards nature. After reaching MBC, the views of Mt.Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gangapurna and the Fishtail are really touchable. Annapurna I is the tenth highest peak of the world. Day 10: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC)
On the way to Annapurna Base Camp, the vegetation disappears. We will see the snow boulders melting and forming small streams. This area is also called as Annapurna sanctuary. Annapurna Base Camp is the main attraction of Annapurna Base Camp Trekking. It gives you the natural views and creates more excitement towards nature. This place exposes the spectacular view of Himalayas including Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli Peak, Fishtail (Machhapuchhre), Lamjung Himal and Barah Shikhar. It takes 2 to 3 hours to reach ABC and then trek back to Deurali (4hrs).
Day 11: Trek back to Chhomrong
Again, after mesmerizing the view of peaceful Himalayas and crossing the beautiful villages, streams and forests, trek back to Chhomrong which takes nearly 7 hours by walking. Take your heavy rest in this beautiful village.
Day 12: Trek to Ghandruk
Another beautiful village to be appreciated is Ghandruk having its own natural beauty. It is one of the most beautiful tourism areas to visit. Most of the people inhabited in Ghandruk are Gurung people who are providing food and lodging facilities to its visitors. They have their own typical Nepali culture to welcome their guests. You have to walk about 5 hours to reach this amazing village from Chhomrong.
Day 13: Trek back to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara
After departure from Ghandruk, trek back to Nayapul which takes about 7 hours to reach the ending point of trekking. Here ends the memorable trekking of Annapurna Base Camp. Then drive from Nayapul to Pokhara.
Overnight stay at Pokhara hotel.
Day 14: Drive back to Kathmandu.
Drive back to Kathmandu from Pokhara. If there is enough time then go for the exploration of local markets and shopping. We’ll reunite in the evening for a farewell dinner at one of the best Nepalese restaurants in town, where we’ll be eager to hear your feedback on the trip. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 15: Kathmandu: Departure Day
Our team will drop you to Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure.
